How to not meal plan but meal plan.
Two words that make me want to run in the other direction. Listen, I don't want to have to think so hard just over what I am going to eat, plus I don't want to be restrictive, and to be honest I am a little lazy in that department. I do recognize how very important "meal planning" is to a healthy lifestyle, so here are my "lazy hacks" or stepping stones to real people meal planning:
1. First off - the temping junk/unhealthy food, just throw it out and don't buy it. Way less tempting if it isn't there to through off your healthy eating plan.
2. Grocery shopping - buy healthy things. Look at your nutrition plan and get ingredients from there - setting yourself up with the healthy options and meal constituents pave the way to healthy eating options.
3. For known cravings, research healthy alternatives and ways to curb those cravings - BE READY!
4. Light meal journaling. How much fruit did you eat/vegetables, protein, carbs, healthy fats, etc. did you get in - this will help you see where you need to improve.
5. 80/20 rule - as always - 80% of meals and beverages all healthy and then you get your 20% for soda or oreos, make sense?
Meal planning doesn't have to jailing - it can be simple, and set you up well !
